A Rolling Start to the New Year
From the team at The Richards’ Centre
January is often full of good intentions, new diets, new exercise plans, and ambitious resolutions. But here’s the thing: most resolutions don’t last, because they demand huge change all at once.
This year, why not take a gentler, more sustainable approach?
Think of January not as a time for big promises, but as a chance to build small, healthy habits that will carry you through the whole year.
Here are five simple ways to start:
-
Move a little more.
Even short bursts of movement, taking a short walk at lunchtime, stretching while the kettle boils, or a few minutes of mobility work, all will do wonders for your joints and circulation.
- Prioritise your posture.
Most of us spend hours sitting at desks or on sofas. Take regular breaks to stand, move and reset your posture. - Stay hydrated.
Your muscles and joints need water and nutrients to work efficiently. Keep a bottle of water on your desk and eat a variety of colourful foods. - Sleep and rest well.
Good sleep is one of the most underrated forms of self-care. Aim for consistency rather than perfection. - Â Keep up regular visits to your osteopath!
Think of your osteopath as part of your long-term health plan. Regular check-ins can help prevent problems before they start, keeping you moving freely, comfortably, and confidently throughout the year.
Small changes, done consistently, lead to big results.
