Cranial Osteopathy
What is Cranial Osteopathy?
An advanced, delicate form of treatment, which encourages the release of stress and tension in the body. Cranial Osteopathy is not limited to treatment of the head, as the name suggests, but can be used on any area in the body. It is a gentle yet extremely effective approach and may be used in a wide range of conditions for people of all ages, from birth to old age.
Advanced training is given to enable the Osteopaths to detect very subtle, rhythmical changes present in all body tissue. This Involuntary Motion is known as the Cranial Rhythm, first described in the early 1900s and confirmed to exist in a series of laboratory tests in the 1960s and 1970s. Tension from stresses and strains, both past and present, can disrupt this rhythm.
Practitioners compare how your current rhythm feels, sluggish etc. to what they feel could be achieved. They use gentle treatment techniques to bring your body towards a more balanced, regular state.
