You may notice some changes when you attend your next visit us at The Richards’ Centre to ensure your safety, but here is what to expect from your osteopathic appointment during the coronavirus pandemic.
Here at the Richards’ Centre, we have updated our clinic risk assessment and put in place new protocols within the clinic. However, the main changes that you can expect when you come back are
Making an Appointment via Telephone
The team at the Richards’ Centre in Crawley will ask you the following…
- Arrive no more than 5 minutes early, to avoid meeting other patients in reception.
- Come on your own, unless a carer or chaperone is essential
- Avoid Public transport if necessary
- Anyone dropping you off cannot wait in the clinic
- Leave unnecessary items at home
- Wear a mask at all times – we can also provide you one for a small fee.
- Wear freshly laundered clothes
- Bring your own laundered towel.
When you arrive at your appointment.
We will ask you to
- Sanitise your hands at the sanitising table in Reception or use your own sanitiser
- If you wish to wash your hands rather than sanitising
- wait until you are in the treatment room and use the basin
- use the bathroom only if essential
- Keep 2m away from other people, except during treatment
- Keep touchpoints to a minimum
- Pay in advance of treatment, by
- Contactless payment card (upper limit is now £45)
- Online banking, if completed in Reception
- Keypad use of payment card machine
- Cash or cheque if in a sealed envelope.
Screening Questions
The team at the Richards’ Centre will ask you these questions when you make an appointment and when you arrive for your appointment, because your situation may have changed. Your osteopath is required to ask these questions again before commencement of treatment. Please bear with us – this is aimed at keeping you and your osteopath safe.
- Do you or anyone in your household have symptoms of Covid-19 now or in the last 7 days?
- Have you or anyone in your household been in contact with someone with confirmed/suspected Covid-19 in the last 14 days?
- Have you been abroad or to high risk UK areas e.g. Preston, Leicester, or Bradford in the last 14 days?
- Are you, or anyone with whom you are in regular contact, considered to be in a high-risk group if you contract the virus (clinically extremely vulnerable or clinically vulnerable – see groups below)?
- Are you, or anyone in your household, at high risk of transmitting the virus by nature of your occupation e.g. a nurse, doctor, care worker?
- Do you have respiratory symptoms or conditions such as asthma or hayfever?
